I’ve written some sentences I really like… See what you think..
Talking about the car engine of the future:
‘It was a tangled confusion of wires and tubes and plasma pistons and that was before they lifted the central control column to reveal the anti-grav mechanism.’
About the end of breakfast in the mess hall:
‘The air, already full of the smells of food was now heavy with the clatter of trays and recycling.’
The first sentence has already been edited by peers but the second has been criticised for too many metaphors in one breath. But I like them. Will they survive a professional edit?
